LONN
Creative and Technical Director/Developer
LONN is a VR game built for SteamVR. It’s an Action Adventure game foccusing on exploration, combat, puzzles and story.
On LONN we aimed to develop a high end game with 8 + hours of story driven action adventure gameplay. My role was to figure out creatively and technically how to achieve this vision with a small team and also lead the charge on the development front to create the game design vision and ship the game on Steam digital storefront.
While I had many roles on LONN to help ship the game some of my major contributions were:
Figuring out creative solutions to many design problems. Involving gameplay, programming, level design, user experience and user interface.
How to use our resources and team strengths to solve technical problems.
Navigating roadblocks, figuring out solutions for production and offering solutions to problems.
Defined the look of LONN’s Cyberpunk style world including: architecture, lighting, shapes and colour schemes for each level in the game.

Creative Problem Solving for production issues.

Environment Creation, art provided by Javi Alaiz, Quixel + Unreal Marketplace and my own assets.
Environment Lighting, baked lighting with forward render including volumetric lighting.
Environment Colours, Post Processing and fog style.
Worked with Microsoft for QA on our game. Discussed playtesting sessions and implemented feedback for level layouts and gameplay.
Gameplay Programming for multiple systems including physics interactions, melee and gun weapons, unique level interactions, dialogue systems, music/sound effect systems, level loading system.
AI Programming using Composition Method.
AI Programming using Behaviour Tree Method.
AI Animation Blueprints.
Player IK Systems using Animation Blueprints.
All Cinematic design, sequencing and technical development.
All user interface design + development.
Developing workflows and pipeline for programming, art, music and dialogue integration.
Designed and Developed Bounty Mission Mode, Arena and Parkour.
Integrated Steam with our game for Cloud Saving and Achievements. Developed Steam production pipeline for deploying Unreal Engine builds to Steam.
Making the game work with multiple VR headsets including Valve index, Meta Quest, Oculus Rift, Windows Mixed Reality/HP Reverb, HTC Vive + Cosmos.
